Worm Castings

Application Rates

Lawns:

       10lbs per100 Square Feet

Trees & Shrubs:

    Planting… Place a heaping handful (about 1½-2 cups) in hole before placing plant, back fill   hole, apply ½-1” layer as a top dress before mulching.

    Established… Apply ½” around base of plant every 6-8 weeks.

 

House & Potted Plants:

    Planting… Apply 1” layer before planting, work into soil with your fingers.

    Established… Apply ½” leery every 6-8 weeks, work in with your fingers being careful not to damage shallow roots.

 

Vegetable Gardens:

    Planting… Place 1” into seed furrows  before placing seeds.

    Growing Season… Apply ½” per linear foot along base of plants, repeat every 8 weeks.

 

Annuals:

    Planting… Place 1” into holes before placing seed(s).

    Growing Season… Once plant sprouts apply ½” around base of plant repeat every 6 weeks.

 

Perennials:

    Work a handful (about 1 cup) into soil, being careful not to damage roots. Repeat 3 times/year in spring, summer, and fall.

 

Compost Piles:

    Apply ¼”-½” between layers to be composted.

 

Compost Tea/Worm Tea:

    Mix 1 cup castings to 1 gallon water and shake vigorously. Let settle and strain out castings. Use for all of your watering needs.
